Rosalie Dierking Lighting Blog Week #14

While doing the lights for The Unseen Hand, I had to crawl underneath the trap door to turn off the fog machine. The fence above me was letting the light in through the cracks and the leftover fog allowed these curtains of light to form. You can kind of see it in this photo, but it's definitely not as obvious as it is in person. Because of the different lights that were shining on it, multiple versions of this effect were created in different colors and intensities. I'm very fascinated by the amount of possibilities haze creates! The dimension that it can create brings a whole new meaning to adding shape to things :)

  1. Omg Rosie ! I can't believe you uploaded a picture under the trap like me, however, we both gave different perspectives from each other. When looking at this picture, it really gives me the vibe of Tron from space. I love the bright blue light and the way how the the cracks of the fence is adding a pattern next to it. This picture is such a nice way to end the final blog! :)

  2. This is a very stunning perspective of the light coming from above those wood cracks. When I first saw this image I thought it was that lighted hallway in Little Tokyo by Akiko Yamashita called Portal. (http://www.akikoyamashita.com/Portal check it out if you aren't familiar with it) The light also closes resembles a LED light show at music festivals/concerts. I enjoyed reading your last comment on your post. "brings a whole new meaning to adding shape to things" 👍

  3. oooooooooo SO COOL! hahaha oh that haze ;) it really does do lovely things for light, especially when you're dealing with the different colored diodes of LED fixtures, you never quite know what colors and lines you're going to get! Great commentary! Thanks for sharing!

  4. This is a great picture for a post! It reminds me of a hallway that is near a plaza at Little Tokyo! Everyone loves and enjoys doing photo shoots there! This feels like the type of lighting at a very upbeat club or a techno music concert!
