Rosalie Dierking - Lighting Post week 2

The other day I went to a concert at LA Live in downtown and when I went to use the bathroom in one of the nearby hotels, I had to go through this hallway. I was taken aback by how simple and elegant the lighting was. The way the white marble flooring reflects the geometric lights is really gorgeous! I love the choice of warm colors they made and how it make the room feel very cozy despite geometric designs typically making architectural lighting feel more harsh and uninviting (compared to other softer lighting choices). My favorite part of this whole hallway is how they managed to light it in a way that draws your eyes to the painting at the end which helps make it the focus piece of the room.

  1. wow! What a beautifully designed hallway! Modern, yet inviting, and the way the light reflects off of the floor and walls is creating more space and openness (in what would otherwise feel pretty small and claustrophobic!) Love the focus at the end of the hallway, keeps your mind off of the tight space as well. LOVELY commentary!
