Patrick M. Kong Lighting Week #14
For the last lighting blog of the semester, I decided to upload something special for the occasion. I picked this picture because of the way the light shines through the cracks which creates a curtain style of light. I love the brushstroke of this picture since it gives the heavenly feel to it. The ominous swirls in the light itself is actually the after effect of fog. This picture was taken by me under the fallen fence trap from The Unseen Hand. A lot of you probably don't know, but if you went to watch the show, the "magic" that happens with the actors' entrances is due to my actions. Also I love the bright blue light in this picture, it gives reminds me of my nostalgic past. Which ties into Sycamore's entrance coming from "hell" right after this picture.
This image stands out, I would not have thought it was taken from that perspective. It looks like lighting you would see at night during some Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios. The effect that is seen here with the haze is ominous and cryptic. The light beams shining through the openings create a visual of this towering arch similar to the monolith in 2001 A Space Odyssey.
ReplyDeleteI love this! Having been under that stage I know how beautiful the lights coming in from the cracks of the floor looked. I know technically this was made from professional lighting, but I doubt a lot of people ever got the chance to see the beauty that the lights were creating in the unseen parts of the stage. The fog is also so powerful I love how it helps carry the lights through the air.
ReplyDeleteDang i love the double trap photos!!! And they're both so different and so stunning! Love the way the haze is creating these waterfalls of light! Almost creating another trap within the trap! hahaha Nice work and thanks for sharing!
