week #8 Dane Gbrayes

I chose to use this image in my blog for today because of the vibrance of colors within it and the expansive meadowlike appearance that it captured. The Bush is lit from the left angle with multiple shades of color and works like a wash as it fills the cracks off the leaves allowing us to see all off the leaves and giving us a direct source of sunlight. The colors within the leaves also make a difference as the Amber's, Greens, and pinks remind me of different cuts of gel in a nice wash as the different colors spill over each other .

  1. Be careful that you concentrate on lighting, not the colors of different objects! The colors you discuss are not colors of light, but the pigment of the leaves in sunlight. But I'm glad you noticed light filling in those cracks and the directionality of the source...and it's the fact that the "white" sunlight is representing all of the different color waves that allows us to see all the nuances in the shades of colors in the leaves. (much like a tint gel with a low transmission rate would do to costumes on stage).
