Michael O'Mahony Lighting Post 4 Week 8
When I took this picture I was struck by the contrast and the colors of the street. I love the dark shadows and the depth it gives the image. It feels very large with the street in the back, and I love that it's lit by another color. The concrete steps are interesting as they both have patterns and the people on them are highlighted in interesting ways. I could take down some of the whites on the statue and straighten the picture out and I'm sure it would look great. Fun fact: I edited one person out of this image ooOoh bet you can't find where

Dang, where is this photo? Fascinating lighting in this shot, something about it doesn't seem realistic. The shadow the statue is creating suggests that the source of light is coming from SR, but the statue looks as though it is being lit quite forcefully from the front, dead on. And the contrast of it being SO insanely bright and the rest of the world being rather dark and seedy is interesting, it's like they belong in two different photos. And what's more intriguing is WHY you edited out a person...? ;)
ReplyDeleteWow! This picture is absolutely beautiful. I love the lighting in this image since it has so many perspectives and tells so many stories. The light below the statue is gorgeous but what I was drawn to was the streetlight in the background. To me it looked like there was so much more to this image and it has so much depth to it. It is almost like the statue should be the last thing you should look at since it is the most heavily lit. I also thought it was interesting how the concrete stairs are almost at an angle where they look like a flat wall. I believe if it wasn't for the people sitting there it could've looked like an entirely different background. This entire photo has some mystery to it and I absolutely adore it.
ReplyDeleteThis picture is so amazing! I love how the statue is very light up like it was the main character of some sort. The yellow from the background is very aesthetic and pleasing to the eye. Learning in class that yellow isn't a very nice color when playing with it during our projects, however, for this picture I believe it's not a bad thing to actually have. I adore how this picture can be part of a scenic of a play. The shadows also play a huge part of the picture because it adds a good amount of depth to the picture. When looking at this picture you can split the picture in sections and there can be a different story in each section.
