Arturo Gonzalez Week 8
Week 8
I have been very interested these past weeks with neon lights and capturing photos of different signs at night as the bending to the glass and color can vary and creative. The photo I took for this week's lighting blog was of a red neon light. This light caught my attention in how it had a dim glow bouncing around the space like on the ceiling and the curtains. This light source was different than the direct light I have observed from the stage lights in class, natural sunlight, and the lamps and lights I see everyday.

Love the bold red stand out sign of "bar" right above the emergency exit sign hahaha. There's something so significant and symbolic about that quality and type of red light, it's got a reputation! Love the almost candlelight feeling of the warm light next to it too! Very typical of a good ol' bar!

ReplyDeleteI really loved this picture! The sultry red of the word Bar brings such a different ambience to the photo compared to the candle-like lamp which is closer to the camera. I at first thought that the neon was blurred but once I read that it was on a curtain I thought it was so interesting! It is almost like it is playing a mind trick and making itself seem blurry but it is only the background that it is on. I also adored how you noticed it's reflection on the ceiling since it is something that my eyes were immediately drawn to. Lights naturally reflect on different material in their own way. I love this picture! Great job.
