Lighting Post #1

I've never used Blogger so I hope this is posting correctly into the forum, and in all RAW image quality it was shot in. This mixture of lighting really caught my eye during the MultiCult's performance at the Lyric Hyperion. My eyes first are caught by the saxophone player, where most of the light falls. The same light on the sax also lights up the piano player in the back, but its hard to see most of him as he's hidden. In a sense, the woman in the foreground is hidden too. She's lit from a different light, a deeper red that comes from the left of the camera. This mixture invokes some sense of emotion and seperation between the two characters.

  1. Nice work! Remember these are not supposed to be stage lighting images...though your commentary about separation and focus is spot on! Lighting can create a lot of depth as well. Nice work!
