Christina Antolin Week 4 Post 2

I took this photo as I walked in the park. I decided to write about it because it is lighting that randomly caught my eye. This tree was being illuminated by a park light post located to the right of it. The angles specifically caught my attention. The way the focus seems to be put on the right side of the tree reminded of the activities done in class. I feel like this angle actually shows a happier form of a shadow. To me this tree looks like more of a symbol of enlightenment rather than a creepy tree in the night. I believe this is due to the brightness on the right highlighting the branches and trunk not leaving much hidden in the dark. The light helps extend the length of the branches showing off the trees size. However, the dark side does create a nice contrast but can not overpower the brighter side. I think that if the light was located anywhere else creating a different angle the vibe of this picture would have changed dramatically.

  1. wow! that light is SO POWERFUL! Makes that tree look like it's alive! It's huge and while a little ominous, you're right...it's reading as a symbol in the darkness. beautiful! What is that light coming from? It's almost reading as a low side light but so intense. Love the commentary! I'd notice this too!
